Why This Consortium?

Pakistani research remains underrepresented in global databases due to the lack of persistent identifiers like DOIs. The DataCite Consortium of Pakistan, coordinated by XploreOpen, unites universities, HEIs, researchers, and institutions to:

• Establish a national system for DOI registration
• Enable global discoverability of Pakistani research
• Support Open Science, FAIR data, and metadata best practices
• Align with UNESCO’s Open Science Recommendation (2021)

• Academic networks & repositories
• Individual researchers and scholars

What Members Commit To

By joining the consortium, members agree to:

• Promote the use of persistent identifiers (DOIs)
• Ensure quality metadata and ethical practices
• Participate in capacity building and knowledge sharing
• Nominate a contact person for coordination

How to Join?

• ✔ Sign the agreement as an institution or individual

• ✔ Take part in trainings, campaigns, and working groups

Duration & Terms

• Members may withdraw with 30 days’ written notice
• Consortium governance is guided by an Advisory Board
